
Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) will lead campaigns with mass familiar with rabies through specially designated LED vehicles through their limits.
Vehicles travel to all departments to educate citizens to prevent rabies. BBMP will also address the government of BBMP-Run and private schools and universities to educate students to prevent and control rabies and send campaign vehicles there.
BBMP Surralkar Vikas Kishhor participated in the observation of World Zooses (marked 6th July) on Monday, emphasized the importance of proactive measures to prevent the spread of rabies.
“Several diseases are transmitted from animals to humans. People are often in close contact with dogs and dog bite can lead to serious health problems. Therefore, it is necessary to regularly vaccinate animals against rabies and spread the public awareness,” he said.
“No one should isolate or avoid animals for fear. Instead, we must learn to coexist and understand their behavior. Other IEC activities (information, education and communication) related to zoonotic diseases will also be carried out,” he added.
