The Bengalur Committee, which presented the first bill on the administration of public Bengalur, 2024, which provided more companies in the civic limit of the city, suggested that Bruhhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) be divided into five corporations.
The Committee presented its submission with the proposed borders of five corporations for representatives of the main Minister and Minister of Development Bengaluru DK Shivakumar and Minister of the Interior G. Parameshware on Monday.
Income difference 100 crore
The Bengalur Committee designed five corporations – Central, North, East, West and South. The proposed corporations were drawn with maintaining balance in income production and to prevent reducing constituencies in multiple corporations, as two key criteria.
The maximum dispersion of the generation of income generation of these proposed five corporations is reportedly left to CRORE 100 GBP and only three to five constituencies would be reduced to more corporations, sources said. The collection districts of Mahadevapura and Kr Puram, which are located by the city IT corridor and therefore generate the highest income, will be divided into multiple corporations, the sources said.
However, this led to a large scattering in the area and the population of these proposed corporations. While the population density is high in the West, the capacity of income generation is low and its conversation applies in the current zones in the east and Mahadevapura. Maintaining the capacity of income generation as key criteria has led to the proposed corporations, where the largest company is more than double the size of the smallest, and the population also differs in a 1: 3 ratio among the smallest and largest corporations, sources said.
“Takes the opposition to self -confidence”
After the meeting, Mr. Shivakumar told the media persons that he told the chairman of the committee that the opposition leaders must be in the report of confidence in which he would discuss it in the cabinet. “Corporations would be created within the current BBMP borders and would be expanded later. We must make the elections as soon as possible,” he said.
Bharatiya Janata (BJP) and Janata have (secular) constantly opposed the idea of the division of BBMP into multiple corporations. It should be remembered that it was the government of JD (S) -bjp, which in 2007 expanded the former civic body by 110 villages, more urban and urban corporations from 225 km to 709 km2 to create BBMP. During the previous BJP regime, the state government brought the BBMP Act, a dedicated law that has a Bengaluru government, but based on a single corporation.
The state government wants to divide the proposed boundaries of more corporations next month and sought objections from the public. The government committed itself in court to organize elections by the end of the year, said sources. Come in September this year, it will be five years without the elected advice in the city.
