The main commissioner of Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) M. Maleshwar Rao ordered officials to remove unauthorized optical fiber cables (OFC). During the inspection of the 2.5 km section of the road from the overpass Gutahalli to the Kantonment railway station Mr. Rao observed that OFC was freely hanging over pedestrians and ordered immediate removal.
He said that, despite providing cables for lay cables underground in the offer for select and white roads, some providers of services laid cables along roads, sidewalks, electric poles and even on trees, causing inconvenience to the public. Use free land owned by BBMP
