For former Manchester United managers across Europe, it was a week of nightmares. After Besiktas split with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Fenerbahce Seker Jose Mourinho, Bayer Leverkusen has now officially released Erik Ten Hag after two Bundesliga games.
In May, a 55 -year -old Dutch was appointed to replace Xabi Alonso, who left after Leverkusen led to the historic league and cup before he took care of Real Madrid. The expectations were high, but two games without victory – and a series of blown leaders – brought the club hierarchy to make a quick decision.
Leverkusen CEO Simon Rolfes admitted that the call was heavy, but insisted that it was the right step forward:
“This decision was not easy for us. No one wanted to take this step. However, in the last few weeks, building a new and successful team with this setting is not feasible. We believe in the quality of our team and now we do everything we can to take further steps in our development with the new settings.”
CEO Fernando added a car:
“The division of ways in this early stage of the season is painful, but we felt it was necessary. We remain obliged to achieve our goals for the season – and to do it, we need the best possible conditions at all levels and throughout the first team.”
The release of Erika that Hag decreases as the fastest managerial departure in the history of the Bundesliga, coming after two league trips and the collision of a lonely cup. His term of office began with a stabbing defeat 2-1 to Hoffenheim, where Leverkusen gave up the early leadership. A week later, the suffering deepened how Leverkusen left the command-2-0 command-0 and then 3-1-slip, to settle for a frantic 3-3 draw against the 10-Mohus Bremen Bremen. Their lonely clear place under ten Hag was 4-0 German victories after the fourth stage of SG Sonnenhof Grossaspach, which was a result that was hard to hide the growing suffering of the team in the early season.
The release has been brutal for several days for former Manchester United managers. Solskjaer was released after Besiktas did not reach the Europa Conference Conference, while Mourinho was released after their ascent from the Champions League to Benfica.
It is remarkable that the last three permanent manchester United chiefs are now all out of work, so the current Ruben Amorim manager will remain under pressure on Old Trafford.
