Jasprit Bumrah’s chat about Temba Bavuma’s height with Rishabh Pant went viral after the pacer thought he trapped the South African captain in front of the stumps during the first day of the Kolkata Test on Friday, November 14. The incident occurred in the final ball of the 13th over when Bumrah lifted his tail after getting Aidenwick.
The ball hit Bavuma in the pads and he went for a hard appeal, but the referee refused to give it. Temper considered going for referrals and decided to discuss it with Pant. Bumrah referred to Bavum as a small person and asked if it should be a recommendation. But Pant convinced him otherwise when he said the ball went over the leg stump despite the Proteas skipper’s height.

The hawk showed that the ball had indeed gone over the stumps by a whisker, confirming Pant’s call. However, Bavuma did not last long as he was dismissed by Kuldeep Yadav for three runs off 11 balls.
INDIA FIGHT
South Africa won the toss and elected to bat first, both teams made a lot of gutsy calls. For India, it was the fact that they went with four spinners. Aiden Markram and Ryan Rickleton started with a bang and attacked the Indian bowlers.
They put up 57 runs in the first 10 overs before Bumrah changed the game. He first cleaned up Rickleton with a peach and then used the bounce in his next over to surprise Aiden Markram and get an outside edge. Bavum’s wicket troubled the visitors before Wiaan Mulder and Tony de Zorzi steadied the ship and sent them to lunch at 105 for three in 27 overs.
