Keshava Rao alias Basavaraju (70), the highest Maoist leader who was shot by the Security Forces in the Chhattisgarh’s Narayanpur district (May 21, 2025), was “very secret”, like other Maoists, and “reaching and killing”. (MHA) said Hindu.
Until Wednesday (May 21, 2025), when the security staff photographed their body after the meeting, the security agencies had no other photo other than the old black and white photograph of his college days.
On Wednesday (May 21, 2025), photographs taken by the safety forces are seen by the Basavaraju on each other on each other, and its hair seems to have recently colored, with gray roots to appear.
“In the past, Basavaraju led the forest division in Dandakaranya (Chhattisgarh) and is also the head of intelligence and military wing. He represented Andhra Pradesh in volleyball during the college days.
Mr. Kumar said that although the best Maoist leadership aged, Basavaraju took over as the Secretary General of the Communist Party of India (CPI) -Maoist in 2017–2018 because he was an expert in manipulation with explosives and more susceptible to violence compared to his predecessor compared to his predecessor, Mullapalla Rao aka Ganapathi.
Basavaraju had a cumulative reward for crore over 2 crore when arresting states Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Odisha and the National Investigation Agency (NIA).
Basavaraju was born in Sricacula in Andhra Pradesh and chased by B. Tech of Warangal, now in Telangana. It was part of the CPI (Maoist) Central Committee, the highest decision -making body of clothing, for more than 27 years, and was part of its politician office for 18 years.
“It came six seven years ago, but fortunately the presence of security forces culminated at that time. If there were no sufficient security forces on Earth, we could have trouble with the rudder.
CEO of the former police forces of Central Reserve (CRPF) also stated that the peak of violence was witnessed in 2009–2010, and then began an increase in security forces in the areas affected by the left wing extremism (LWE) and “until he took over Basavaraju, security forces were almost in good form”.
“Although he became old, he was much more susceptible to violence and the advocate of strong action. The increase in forces coincided with his rise, otherwise we would have more victims. Even if they lose (Maoists), we have to go to lasting steps, otherwise they are capable of further smaller events.
Basavaraju’s killing would have an impact on the recruitment of the cadre that has seen a huge decline in the last few years, Kumar said.
