Basava Jayanthi, the birth anniversary of the 12th century social reformer, was observed on Monday, recalling his message of equality and upliftment of the downtrodden sections of the society.
In a program organized by the Hassan district administration in Hassan, Member of Parliament Shreyas M. Patel said that the best way to pay tribute to Basavanna is to adopt his principles and teachings in life. He fought for equality and motivated many people to join the path of change during his lifetime, he said.
