Basava Jayanti was celebrated on Wednesday with great enthusiasm in Ballari, marked by a number of events, including the morning round in the morning, floral honors to the 12th century social reformer and a live cultural procession in the evening.
The celebrations were organized under the common auspices of the District Administration, Zilla Panchayat, Department of Kannada and Culture and Ballari City Municipal Corporation.
Floral honor
Formal celebrations began with dignitaries who offer floral honor of the statue of Basaveshware near Hr Gaviappa Circle in the city.
Deputy Commissioner Prashanth Kumar Mishra led tribute, Garlanded the statue and honored the state the philosopher.
He called on the public to accept Basaveshware’s timeless ideals of equality, humanism and social reforms and expand her greetings on the occasion of his Jayanti.
Bike rally
Previously, bicycles on the main roads in the city, led by Ballari by rural MLA B. Nagendra and Ballari City MLA Nara Bharath Reddy took place. After the ride, the participants paid flower respect for the statue of Basaveshware.
Before the assembly, Bhoomi Puja (pioneering ceremony) was made in Basaveshware Circle for the construction of a large new statue of Basaveshware, estimated at the cost of 1.5 GBP.
The event was attended by several dignitaries, including the mayor of Mullangi Nandeesh, the chairman of Dr. Babu Jagjivan Ram Leather Industries Development Corporation Mundargi Nagaraj, community and community leaders.
Cultural procession
In the evening, Mr. Mullangi Nandeesh was marked with a large cultural procession at the city university.
The procession went through the key parts of the city – Gadigi Channappa Circle, Bengaluru Road, Old Brucepet Police Station Road and Ther Beedi – before they ended up at Dr. Joladareshi Doddanagowda Rangamandira, where a stage program took place later in the evening.
The procession presented the rich cultural heritage of Karnataka with the performance Veeragas, Kamsale, Doll Kunitha and Tash Randol with various folk ensembles.
To the visual and educational attraction of this event added tables and labels showing the life and message of Basaveshware.
The celebrations saw enthusiastic participation of officials, cultural leaders, community members and citizens from all areas of life.
