Barcelona drew a line under the turbulent week by renewing Marc-Andre ter Stegen as the club’s captain and ended the short-term but highly public dispute over the medical check-in by the German goalkeeper.
At the end of July, he was operating on his back on his back and soon found himself in the middle of an unexpected series. Reports in Spain claimed that he refused to give La league to approach to his medical ensemble, a step that the club allegedly wanted to register it as a long -term injury and temporarily reduce their wages according to the rules of the salary. His rejection led to disciplinary proceedings and the captain was taken on Thursday – a shock decision for senior players with years of service in Camp Nou.
On Friday, however, Standoff ended. In his statement, Barcelona announced: “The club announces that Marc-Andre Ter Stegen’s player has signed the permission necessary for the club to send La the league a medical report.
The fall has grown rapidly from the administrative disagreement into the leading crisis. Now, with signed paperwork, Ter Stegen will restore his role, although his long -term captain could still depend on the upcoming team’s vote to confirm the group of leaders for the season.
His status of injuries could benefit Barcelona in the short term because it allows them to register a new arrival Joan Garcia to cover the position of the goalkeeper. On the pitch, however, in recent seasons, Ter Stegen’s displays have faced key matches, which means that its return comes with renewed expectations.
The head coach Hans Flick will now try to direct the focus on football. With the approaching pre -season season and the upcoming transfer date, the club’s attention moves to the completion of the team and is preparing for their title defense and attempted European glory.
