Barbie launched her first doll with diabetes 1. Part of the fashion line, the doll has a small glucose monitor on the arm to monitor the blood sugar, held by a heart -shaped medical tape.

According to medicine Johns Hopkins, children with diabetes 1 should be treated as well as other normal children. At the same time, they should wear a bracelet for constant monitoring of medical warning.
Diabetes type 1, autoimmune disease, is a long -term condition. Children with such conditions need everyday shots of insulin to remain healthy.
The doll was made in cooperation with the T1D breakthrough, a research group for diabetes. Barbie also donates these dolls to the Children’s Congress 2025, where children meet with us with lawmakers.
