Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD) Minister P. Narayana announced that the Barashaheed Dargah in Nellore district will be built at an outlay of ₹9.8 crore, adding that the country’s first ever international school for the benefit of minorities is coming up in Nellore.
Mr. Narayana arrived at Barashaheed Dargah in the city on Saturday along with Andhra Pradesh Waqf Board Chairman Abdul Aziz, TDP Nellore Rural Constituency Co-Convenor Kotamreddy Giridhar Reddy, Mayor Sujatha Ashok and Deputy Mayor Roop Kumar Yadav to attend a special prayer on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.
After the prayers, the minister said that the development work of the Dargah, which had stalled during the previous tenure of the YSRCP, would be resumed.
While appreciating the efforts of Nellore Rural MLA Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy to develop the Dargah, he recalled that the ‘Shadi Manzil’ in the 42nd Division of the city was also opened during the NDA regime.
The exclusive school at a cost of ₹ 20 crore on land belonging to the Waqf Board would be built as per international standards with modern design and amenities like a swimming pool.
