NTR Commissioner of Police SV Rajasekhar Babu launched the ‘Cyber Suraksha’ program here on Monday to check cyber fraud.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that cyber criminals challenge the police and cyber crimes can be prevented if bankers are vigilant.
Police have increased vigilance at banks and other financial institutions through CCTV, suspicious transactions and accounts to check online fraud. However, criminals resorted to committing crimes in the name of digital arrest and impersonated ED, CBI and police officers, the police commissioner said.
“Cyber crime is happening due to the carelessness of some bank officials and employees. Police Commissioner NTR has proposed ‘Cyber Suraksha’, a month-long drive for bankers and customers to check online fraud,” said police officers from various wings who participated in the programme.
“The monthly program will be conducted in 227 banks of Police Commissioner NTR,” said Mr. Rajashekar Babu.
