Bangladeshi fighter: Bangladeshi Air Force (BAF) on Monday came across a busy school in Dhaka and left at least 27 dead – including a pilot – and injured more than 170 others, in a cold reminders of risks that are aging military hardware. “The pilot made all efforts to divert the aircraft from densely populated areas, but failed,” said ISPR, adding that a high -level question was ordered in the accident.
Eyes witnesses reported a deafening explosion because the flames and debris absorb parts of the school complex.

F-7 BGI: Aging Chinese Workhorse of Bangladesh Air Force
F-7 BGI, a modernized version of the Chinese Chengdu F-7, follows its line back to the Soviet era MiG-21. Although the F-7 is considered to be obsolete according to international standards, the main part remains a large extent due to its availability and reliability for pilot training and light combat missions.
Air Force Army Air Force (Plaaf) and several other folk nations continued to deploy J-7 (F-7 on export markets) as an aircraft, although its production ceased in 2013. The last dose of these nozzles was delivered to Bangladesh in the same year.

Procked past: History susceptible to Chengdu J-7/F-7 crash
Chengdu J-7-or F-7-media messages carries a grim history of fault, engine failure and fatal accidents across different air forces.
In June 2025, under mysterious circumstances, the Black Querno Air Force J-7, perhaps because of a technical error or shot down, crashed.
In 2022, J-7 fell into the residential block in Xiangyang province, Hubei province in China, although the pilot successfully fired before the impact.
These incidents were concerned about the safety and operating reliability of the Chinese aircraft around the world.

According to the Tribune report by Dhak Tribune, the Bangladesh Air Force has seen 27 accidents on fighter aircraft and coach aircraft – which is a worrying statistic that underlines the persistent security concerns.
Are the Chinese aircraft behind the Bangladeshi air accidents?
Military records show that out of 11 aircraft in the last two decades in Bangladesh, seven included Chinese aircraft, three were produced Russian and one came from the Czech Republic.

“Chinese aircraft are one of the main reasons for these repeated accidents, but the Air Force continues to use them due to various restrictions,” said former Bangladesh officer of the Air Force Tribune about the conditions of anonymity.
The unfortunate F-7 BGI was one of the fleets of approximately 40 such aircraft in the Bangladeshi inventory-all came from China.
Previous accidents included other Chinese models such as FT-7, PT-6 and F-7B. However, experts note that human mistakes, birds’ strikes and poor maintenance also contributed to the alarming number of incidents.
