Bangladeshi High Commissioner to India, M. Riaz Hamidullah, arrived at Agartala on Friday (August 1, 2025) during a three -day visit to Tripura, the higher official said.
During the visit, Mr. Hamidullah is scheduled to meet the Governor N. Indrasený Reddy and the main Minister of Manik Saha.
According to the official edition, Agartala Integrated Check Post (ICP) and Akhaura Land Port on the Bangladesh side will also visit the envoy.
On Saturday (August 2, 2025), Akhaura will leave the ICP to visit the port of Ashuganj via Bangladesh territory.
The technical attempt at the newly built railway lines from the Bangladesh gangasagar to Tripura Nischintapur was successfully carried out in September 2023.
However, the project could not be operated due to a sudden political shift in Bangladesh.

The Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Bangladesh counterpart Sheikh Hasina launched a “Maitri set” between India and Bangladesh, but it could not be functional to change the regime in DHACE.
