Bangladesh made five changes in his T20i group for the upcoming series against Sri Lanka. The largest of them was to drop Hozmul Hossain Shanto, who resigned as a captain of the T20i at the beginning of this year. Shanto was also part of the T20i series against Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates (SAE), but played only one of six matches.
In addition to Shanto, Tigers, Khaleda Ahmed, Tanvir Islam, Hasan Mahmud and Tymya Sarkar also dropped. Mohammad Naim, NASUM AHMED, Taskin Ahmed, Mustafizur Rahman and Mohammad Sifuddin returned to Bangladesh.
28 -year -old Saifuddin lost his place in the team after a bad trip in the T20i series against Zimbabwe and also missed the T20 World Championship. In August he took a two -month break to reset, and then a strong comeback in the Bangladeshi Premier League (BPL) and Dhaka Premier League (DPL), where he claimed 37 goals.
Instead of Shanto, Bangladesh decided for Naim, a front running shooter in BPL and NCL T20s. He collected 827 runs in an impressive 37.59 average and a strike rate of 140.40, including one century and six half missiles.
Pace duo Taskin Ahmed and Mustafizur Rahman also returned to the team after recovering from the injury. Both of them performed on Wednesday in the first ODI against Sri Lanka and marked their return.
Bangladeshi T20is Sri Lanka will take place on 10, 13 and 16 July in Palelele, Dambulle and Colombo.
