KARIMNAGAR
State Union Home Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar alleged that BRS leaders encroached on thousands of acres of land during the party’s nearly decade-long rule and demanded that the land be reclaimed and distributed among the poor.
Nearly 60% of the people of Telangana did not own land and 25 lakh families did not have even a small piece of land to build a house, he claimed while speaking to the media at Kothapalli near Karimnagar on Wednesday evening. BJP will launch ‘Dandayatra’ against alleged land encroachment, Mr. Sanjay said.
“What happened to the SIT probes into alleged irregularities in power purchase agreements, Formula E race, Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project and sheep scheme?” he asked.
“Why did it take Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy 1,000 days to reveal land encroachment under the previous BRS rule?” he asked.
Mr. Sanjay said that during his padayatra, he had raised the issue of alleged large-scale land encroachment under the BRS government, despite veiled threats by BRS leaders in the past.
