
District collector V. Vigneshwari canceled the ban on tourism, trekking and tourism related to water in the district on Thursday.
The collector issued an order on May 24, which suspended travel activities in the district due to heavy rain warning. The ban was canceled after the rain retreated and red, orange alerts in the district were resigned, said the collector.
Furthermore, she ordered the Tahsildars in every taluc, who are also commander of the Taluk incident to carry out a ban on local tourism in their jurisdiction based on reports from village officers if the situation requires.
The Minister of District Tourism (DTPC) Jitheesh Jose said that adventure travel activities, including Glass Bridge in Wagamon, will be open for tourists since Friday.
Meanwhile, the tourism party stakeholders said that the early arrival of Monson seriously influenced the arrival of tourists in the district. “Several tourists canceled a trip to the district after a warning with heavy rain was released,” they said.
