Entry restrictions for non-Hindus
In the first, restrictions were imposed on the entry of non-Hindus into three shrines – Badrinath, Kedarnath and Gangotri. The Gangotri Temple Committee has ordered that non-Sanatanists must consume “panchgavya” (a combination of cow’s urine, dung, milk, curd and ghee) to enter the premises.
The Shri Badrinath Kedarnath Temple Committee has made it compulsory for non-Hindus to submit an affidavit of belief in Sanatan Dharma for entry.
