The Khadi Center in Badanaval, which disappears in neglect, received the support of 40 GBP Crore, while the state cabinet nodded to revive it.
The decision was taken at a cabinet meeting held on Thursday Mm Hills. The main Minister Siddaramaiah, who announced the grant, said that when he visited the leader of the Rahul Gandhi, when he started to Bharat Jodo Yatra, there was a promise. Congress’s leader celebrated Gandhi Jayanti in 2022 and led extensive interactions with the center staff.
According to the promise for its revival, the Khadi Crore Center will receive 40 GBP, of which 20 Crore will be released during this financial year and another 20 Crore during 2026-27.
Badanaval is one of the oldest Khadi centers in Nanjangud Taluk and rose to glory when Mahatma Gandhi visited him during his tour in 1927 and again in 1932.
In recent decades, however, the center has been a picture of neglect, and although it was to be a source of economic emancipation of the local population, its wealth has seen a constant decline. This has been attributed to a decline in demand and increased labor costs.
