Mike Hesson said Babar Azam was asked to improve his strike and more effectively against rotation, especially in the T20 cricket. On Sunday, Pakistan announced his units for the Asia Cup and T20i Tri-Series in the United Arab Emirates (SAE), while Babar and Mohammad Rizwan excelled.
Since his debut, Babar scored 4,223 Runs in the T20is on average 39,83. However, its strike rate of 129.22 caused criticism, especially because it fell further against Spin – often slows down the pace of the team during the medium breaks.
Hesson noted that Babar “works very hard” to solve these problems. He also stressed Babar’s upcoming debut Big Bash League with Sydney Sixers Later this year as a valuable opportunity to show its improvement.
Despite concerns, Hesson Babar described as a “too good player” to be overlooked, suggesting that a strong show could see how they return to the dispute over the future tournament.
“There is no doubt that Babar has been asked to improve in some areas, especially against rotation and as far as his strike is concerned.
“A player like Babar also has the opportunity to play in BBL and show improvements in these T20 cricket areas. It’s just too good for us not to think,” Hesson added.
The Asia Cup is scheduled for the beginning of September 9, while Pakistan opened a campaign against Oman 12. September at the International Cricket Stadium in Dubai. Meanwhile, the T20i TRI-series-presented Pakistan, SAE and Afghanistan-Start 29. August at the Shariah cricket stadium.
