The owner of Karachi Kings Salman iqbal said that Babar Azam would become a larger player than the Virt Kohli when he returns to shape. Babar did not have the best time in international and domestic cricket. Currently he plays for Peshawar Zalmi in Pakistani Super League (PSL) 2025, Babar scored only one run from two games on average 0.50.
Mohammad Amir and Ben Dwrshuis have released him so far. The owner of the kings said Babar would be compared with as Viv Richards and Gary Sobers when he returned.
“When Babar Azam returns again, it will be a larger player than any other player in the world, including Virat Kohli. He will match the names like Gary Sobers and Sir Viv Richards,” Iqbal said through Ara Podcast.
Babar Azam passing through a rough patch
Babar did not get a hundred since his 151-running knock against Nepal in the Asia Cup 2023 match at the Multan Cricket Stadium stadium. After the World Cup ODI in the same year, when Pakistan failed to qualify for the semifinals, Babar resigned as a captain across all three formats.
Before last year’s World Cup T20 in West India and the US, Babar returned as a captain in limited formats. After Pakistan failed to cross the league scene, he resigned as a captain. His approach with the bat was also questioned.
Babar also did not find a place in the T20i Pakistan team for their five T20i matches against New Zealand. Former Indian cricket virender sehwag also said that Babar did not deserve a place in Pakistan T20i.
For Babar Zalmi they lost both of their matches this season and disappeared at the bottom of the table with a clean speed of -4.550.
On Saturday, April 19, at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, the stadium will be farther against the Mohammad Rizwan multi sultans.
