With regard to the 11th International Yoga Day 21.
This year’s topic is “Yoga for one country, one health”. As a prelude to the main event, a rally was recently held aware of yoga to encourage community participation and emphasize the role of yoga in everyday comfort.
On Tuesday, the program was held at the University before the event. K. Harish Gowda, Mla, started the event. KS Radhakrishna Ramarao, director of the university, chaired the event.
One of the new features of this year’s campaign is Yoga Dhanush, which mobilizes government agencies, educational institutions, NGOs and female groups (Mahila Mandals) to support yoga through community involvement.
From 10 to 15 June, the District Department of Ayush will lead programs in ten primary health centers (PHC) throughout the Mysur district, emphasizing the preventive and therapeutic benefits of yoga, said the press release.
The main event of Yoga Day with the support of the district Mysur and Mysur City Corporation (MCC) will take place on June 21st. Ayush officials will cooperate with yoga instructors and volunteers to facilitate celebrations.
The Green Yoga initiative, as part of the event, will be coordinated by SAC, NCC, Scouts and Guides, Youth Red Cross and other volunteer groups to encourage yoga practice in schools, universities and public spaces through the active involvement of students and faculties.
Between 1 and 21, a number of awareness will be organized, including street games, exhibitions and demonstrations of yoga, across educational institutions, wellness centers and public places, with the support of Karnataka Ayush and Mysuru Zilla Panchayat.
