Five people, including three children, were killed and several others were injured when the house collapsed after a strong explosion in the village of Pagla Bhari, in the area of Pura Kalandar in Ayodhya, the PTI news agency reported.
Circle officer (Co) Shailendra Singh reported that several people feared trapped under the debris and rescue efforts. “Five people died in the explosion, several of them were injured and the effort to rescue captured. The cause of the explosion is not yet clear,” Singh told the news agency.
At 7:15 pm the roof of the house collapsed in front of the village and caused explosion. The house belongs to Pappu Gupta and the investigation is taking place, while the evidence is collected from the scene, and reported.
Ayodhya SP Gaurav Grovr shared details of the incident and told the press agency: “Around 19:15 we received information that the roof of the house located outside the village in the fields collapsed, causing a massive explosion.
He added: “This house belongs primarily to Papp Gupt, the inhabitants of the village who lives there with his family. He and other injuries were immediately moved to the hospital.”
Uttar Pradesh Cm Yogi Adityanath expressed his condolences to the family of the deceased and ordered officials to immediately achieve the location and speed up efforts for help. He also ordered a rapid transfer of the injured to the hospital and ensured that they underwent proper medical treatment, reported and quoted the Office of the Chief Minister.
Meanwhile Ashish Pathak, an emergency physician, district hospital, ayodhya, shared details of the deceased and said, “Five people brought here with burn injuries, including three children and two adults. They were all brought. There are more people who haven’t brought here …”
After receiving information about the accident, police, fire brigade and local administration teams, they quickly went to the place.
Rescue teams used an excavator to clean the debris and nearby houses were evacuated as preventive measures. The authorities urged the population to avoid the site to help rescue operations. Police and administrative officials supervise their efforts and initiated an investigation into the cause of the explosion.
