On Tuesday (July 8, 2025), the parliamentary panel (8 July 2025) conducted discussions with higher officials of the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Airlines and Airports, several deputies mentioned by the Aviation India and when the probe report was prepared, the sources said.
Members have also taken concern about a sudden increase in Airfars Srinagar after the terrorist attack of Pahalgam in April, the sources said.
Among other things, sources stated that some members demanded an audit of the Civil Aviation Office (BCAS).
The Public Accounts Committee (PAC), headed by the Congress of KC Venugopal, met leading officials and representatives of airlines.
Sources said they were present by airline representatives, including Air India and MD Campbell Wilson.
Many of the panel members mentioned the Air India 12th June, and one of the members tried to know from the Ministry officials about the time framework to complete the black box analysis, the sources said.
About 270 people were killed due to a fatal crash of the London Air India -linked to Gatwick in Ahmedabad soon after takeoff 12th June.
Sources stated that several members of the committee expressed concern about the sudden increase in Srinagar flights after the terrorist attack of Pahalgam.
The ban was imposed on various measures taken by the government against Pakistan as a result of the terrorist attack of Pahalgam, which killed 26 people on April 22.
Ministry officials, General Directorate for Civil Aviation (DGCA), Airport Economic Regulatory Office of India (Aera), Indian Airport (AAI), AAI Cargo Logistics and Allied Services Company LTD (AAICLAS) and Civil Aviation Security (BCAS).
The agenda of the meeting is to accept oral evidence of representatives of the Ministry, DGCA, AERA, AAI, AAICLAS, BCA and other affected organizations, including airport operators and airlines, “fees and regulation of fees, tariffs, user fees, etc. on public infrastructure” as on Lok Sabha.
