Sunrisers Hyderabad are likely to approach the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Sunday over the incident involving LSG player Avesh Khan during their IPL 2026 match against Lucknow Super Giants on Sunday, reported Cricbuzz. The issue relates to the last ball of the match on April 5 when LSG captain Rishabh Pant hit a boundary off Jaydev Unadkat. As the ball headed for the boundary, Avesh, who was close to the off, hit it back into the ground with the bat. There were claims that the ball had not crossed the rope at that point and some argued that SRH should be awarded a penalty run under the dead ball (Rule 20.1) and foul (Rule 41) laws. However, there was no fielder at the ball and it was not seen as an attempt to stop the boundary. As a result, foul play laws were not invoked. An umpire familiar with the situation, as quoted by Cricbuzz, said there was no reason to change the boundary decision.

The franchise is also unhappy with some of the decisions in their earlier matches. In their opening match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), SRH were worried about the dismissal of Heinrich Klaasen, who was caught by Phil Salt off Romario Shepherd near the boundary. They are also unhappy with the dismissal of Abhishek Sharma in their second match against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens. Varun Chakaravarthy took a diving catch off Blessing Muzarabani in the ninth over, but there seemed to be no conclusive evidence that the catch was taken cleanly. While none of these results or decisions will be changed, the Cricbuzz report says that SRH is expected to take up the matter with the BCCI.
