Social Justice Minister R. Bindu distributed side wheel scooters, hearing aids, artificial limbs and other aids to the differently abled in Thiruvananthapuram district here recently.
The distribution was held at the camp as part of Social Justice Department and Shubhayatra Scheme of Kerala State Differently Abled Welfare Corporation at LMS campus in Palayam.
The Shubhayatra scheme aims to provide mobility to the differently abled who find it difficult to walk and make them self-reliant.
Forty-eight people received scooters; fixed deposit certificates for ₹20,000 for 15 children; hearing aids for 43 people; and other auxiliary equipment for 10 people.
Kerala State Differently Abled Welfare Corporation Chairman Jaya Daly MV presided over the function.
