On Monday, the Tirupati District Police launched a project “Auto Digitization”, which would bring thousands of auto-rickers operating in the district under the eye of the department. The aim of the project is to ensure the safety of passengers and reduce crime.
Police Superintendent V. Harshavardhan Raju launched a project in the program, where the 200 AUTO-RIKŠI stickers were attached to QR printed A4 size.
The SP, which labeled the project as the next level of vehicle monitoring and stated: “Distant passengers can scan QR code using Google Lens on their mobile phones and get details about the driver and auto-ricking owner for their safety”.
Details would be made available on the website www.todysfejourney.com, where the police or passengers can track vehicles.
The application also gives passengers to share your details of traveling with your family and friends on WhatsApp, watch the position/route, give rating for the driver, make an emergency call, if necessary to file a complaint and get details of the nearest police station.
