On Monday, during the premier League celebrations in Liverpool, England, Liverpool fans in the city center are going to the city on Monday and by police and eyewitnesses injured several people. The incident occurred shortly after the opening of the open bus of the club passed through an area where tens of thousands of fans gathered.
The British police confirmed that several pedestrians were hit and that a man was detained on the spot.
The Merseyside police said in a statement that the car had stopped on the spot and the man was detained.
Video shots show chaos
It seems that unverified videos published on the social media show that the car is accelerating through a large crowd, at one point it throws away from the densely packed part of the street. Other shots have shown that several individuals lie on the road after the vehicle passed with passers -by and standby staff rushing.
The vehicle quickly surrounded a large number of police, while angry fans tried to get to the driver.
Photographer Reuters said he had seen more ambulances and a tent built on the scene, suggesting a serious response to emergencies.
PM Keir Starmer condemns incident
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer responded strongly to the development and called the scenes “scary”.
“Liverpool scenes are scary – my thoughts are with all injured or affected,” Starmer said on X (formerly Twitter).
“I want to thank police and emergency services for their quick and permanent response to this shocking incident.”
Ongoing investigation
The authorities have not yet confirmed the motive or whether the accident was intentional. The number of injuries remains unconfirmed at the time of reporting. The police urged the public to avoid speculation and allow emergency services to perform their work.
Celebrations draw more than a million fans
Liverpool FC organized a show with an open top 10 miles to mark its Premier League triumph. Massive crowds were lined with streets, and councilors John Hughes estimated that more than a million people participated – surpassed 750,000 who gathered to celebrate the Champions Club League in 2019.
Despite police warning, many fans climbed buildings, traffic lights, gas stations and roofs to get better opinions on the show.
Van dijk leads the team in the middle of a harsh crowd
Captain Liverpool Virgil van Dijk took the lead on an open bus and directed jubilant players when the scene lit up the red smoke cans. The bus, decorated with the slogan “ours. Again”, slowly moved masses on a three and a half -hour journey and ended up on the spring in front of the iconic liver building.
The owner of billionaire John W Henry, dressed in the red sweatshirt and poncho, was seen at the beginning of the show and soaked in the atmosphere. The show began relatively calmly in the Allerton maze before the crowd density dramatically increased towards the city center.
