
The Mandy District Administration set a goal for sterilizing 5,000 stray dogs during 2025-26.
This was stated by the deputy of the Commissioner Mandy Kumar at the meeting, which was convened for discussion on the sterilization of stray dogs as part of the Animal Contraception Program (ABC) on Monday. The authorities also discussed the anti-rag program for vaccination (ARV) in conjunction with ABC drive. Mr. Kumar said that the district had 76 146 dogs, of which 24,615 domestic animals and 51 531 delusions according to the census 21TIVESTOCK, which also counted dogs together with other animals.
Representatives of the Commissioner said that local authorities assigned 60 lacquers for 2025-26 to sterilize stray dogs, as they can allocate 2% of their budget for ABC and ARV handling of stray dogs. The animal breeding department was instructed by Mr. Kumar to coordinate with the local authorities to ensure that the funds were properly assigned.
Mr. Kumar emphasized the organization of programs to raise awareness for school students and emphasized the imperatives that they inform them to contact nearby doctors for treatment if they are bitten by vicious or other dogs and take a vaccine against Rabies. He said that their education should also include the creation of awareness of not calling or implementing the acts of cruelty to animals.
The Commissioner’s representative noted that there were a mismatch of the number of cases of dog pieces and dosage, and acquired officials of the medical department to maintain accurate records of people bitten by wandering dogs and dosing ARV and then submit a report.
Regarding the availability of feed in rural facilities, the Commissioner’s representative said that during 2023-24 purchases were carried out for the influx of drought and provided feed for livestock. Since the year has passed and the supplied feed could be wasting, it should be released to the market, he added.
The CEO of the Panchayat Kr Nandini district said that areas with a higher population of dogs of vicious dogs and funds for the treatment of ABC and ARV should be assigned and used and used in budget limitations of the relevant villages of Panchayats. She said that Panchayat’s executive officers should adequately prepare plans to implement the unit.
Officials were advised to identify places such as tourist sites, areas near mass stalls, etc., where the population of vicious dogs could be high and in these areas preferred the treatment of ABC and ARV.
