The Australian teenage miracles Sam Constas admitted that the emotions of the debut test debut against India on the iconic cricket land in Melbourne improved from it when preparing for the second shot on the big scene in the upcoming West Indies series.
Constas, now 19, was dismissed to the Australian party for the first test against Western India in Bridgetown 25 June. He is ready to open shifts together with veteran Usman Khawaja after Marnus Labuschagne was dropped and Steve Smith ruled his finger.
The Opener had a final opener lit up a box test 2024 with a blazing 60 The debut against Jasprit Bumrah et al. But after playing one more test, he was dropped and critics questioned the selection of the shot and marked their style “ruthless”.
When the Constas thought about this debut series of whirlpool, he acknowledged that it was not just an Indian bowling attack that represented a challenge-it was the only size of this opportunity.
“It was my first few test matches, and I probably got emotions with the crowd,” Konstas said. “But have a little time off to think and strengthen my game. Now, hopefully I will get a chance to start in the next test.”
Constas, confirmed starter for the opening test at Barbados, said he has worked closely with his coach of tabs to tighten the key areas of his game in the last few months.
“I tried to concentrate on several key areas with my tab coach and I feel like I have gone through a long way. Hopefully I can show it in the next few test matches.”
Constas, which has its test cap – 468 – tells the forearm now eager to fix its place in the Australian Supreme Order. Since David Warner’s retirement 18 months ago, Australia tried five different openers in finding a stable partner for Khawaja. With the Ashes Tour on the horizon at the end of this year, the West Indies series could serve as a defining section in the Constasian young career.
“Very excited. It’s obvious that it’s a tough team to burst because we have legends of the game,” he said. “Hopefully I am going to do with both hands.
“It’s a dream that has become a fact to be honest. Nineteen years old, playing for your country, traveling around the world. I am very lucky to be where I am at the moment.”
Australia is ready to play three tests against Western India, starting with June 25 in Bridgetown.
