Australia vs India, Women’s T20I Series Live: Squads, all you need to know

February 14, 2026

India Women and Australia Women are set for a high-stakes T20I series starting on February 15 in Sydney, adding another chapter to one of the fiercest rivalries in women’s cricket. Australia begin a new phase under the leadership of Sophie Molineux, who has been named captain of all formats.

He replaces the veteran in goal, Alyssa Healy, who announced her retirement and will sit out T20Is before returning for ODIs and Test matches later in the tour.

India arrive as the reigning ODI World Champions and will be looking to secure their first white-ball series win on Australian soil. Harmanpreet Kaur will lead a strong 17-member squad that mixes experienced players with emerging talent.

Shreyanka Patil comes into the T20I squad in place of Harleen Deol while Bharati Fulmali returns for the first time since 2019 and adds depth to the batting unit. New faces like Vaishnavi Sharma and G Kamalini bolster India’s spin and wicket sources ahead of the three-match series.

India have already started their tour on a positive note by defeating the Governor General XI Women by five wickets at the North Sydney Oval. Shreyanka Patil and Arundhati Reddy took two wickets each before Smriti Mandhana’s 36 took India to a chase of 121 with 15 balls remaining.

Australia, meanwhile, will be looking to make a quick adjustment under Molineux, who has not been in charge at international level but has captained the Melbourne Renegades in 37 Women’s Big Bash League matches.

The team combines youth and experience, with Beth Mooney leading the batting and Darcie Brown and Georgia Wareham spearheading the pace and spin attacks. Nicola Carey’s recall after a strong Women’s Premier League season with Mumbai Indians adds balance, while Ashleigh Gardner and Tahlia McGrath serve as vice-captains.
