England Bowling Great Stuart Broad claimed that Australia has been heading to the ashes with their “worst” team since 2010, because the War of Words has been heating in front of the iconic series. Broad made a comment in response to the forecast of Australia’s former opening David Warner that England would lose a series of 4-0 down.
The last victory of England in Australia came in 2010-11, when Broad was part of a team that won 3-1 to retain the urn. In her three follow-up tours, however, England suffered heavy defeats 5-0, 4-0 and 4-0.
“It is very, very difficult to win in Australia as on the side of England or on any side – that’s just,” Broad told the BBC sounds for the love of cricket podcast.
“Australia must be massive favorites. The question was really” which team is under the greatest pressure? “Australia are under the most pressure because they are expected to win.
“But they have question marks about their team and question marks (fitness) Captain (Pat cummins).”
Wide left playing after the Ashes series in England in 2023, when Australia kept a urn with a draw of 2-2.
He added: “You wouldn’t think – in fact, it’s not an opinion, it’s a fact – it’s probably the worst Australian team since 2010, when England won the last time, and it’s the best English team since 2010.
“So these things agree that it will be the brilliant series Ashes.”
The first test begins in Perth 21. November and Australian preparations were hit by the potential absence of Captain Cumminsa, who did not play since July due to the lumbar stress in his back.
Bowler Pace is still recovering and he said he would play “less likely” in the opening. His absence would leave Australia with bowling attack Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood and Scott Boland, all in the middle of the age of 30, while their other sailors are inexperienced or not related to test levels.
Plan for packed ash – five tests in seven weeks – also means that both sides will be tested by injuries.
“Australia has been so consistent for a long time that you just knew who was going to open the bats, who was going to bat, where, what was there, and they didn’t have it,” Broad said.
“It is a very similar situation as 2010-2011 when England went and won there.
“The fact is that in Australia in Australia, it must be generally bad and England must be very good.
“England has a great chance to be very good, and Australia has a good chance to be bad.
“I don’t think anyone could say it’s their weakest team since 2010, it’s just a fact.”
