Cricket fans throughout Australia made an excitement for the Ashes 2025-26 series and a clear-on 220,000 tickets were sold on the first day of pre-sale 3 June, breaking a one-day record in Australia tickets. Demand more than doubled the previous record of 111,000 set in 2017-18 and is considered one of the strongest features, as the ashes were highly expected in the summer.
Rush began within a few hours of the priority pre -sales opening, because the fans tried to book seats for the largest calendar accessories. Tickets for the iconic boxing day at MCG and the first ever ASHES match at the night of Gabba sell out quickly as the fans rushed to secure their seats.
However, when tickets developed across different states, fans reported long waiting times, slow loading sites and even detaching the system in the middle of the purchase. In one place there were more than 200,000 users in virtual fronts and tried to catch ashes tickets and other international matches. Many fans also had to register in advance for pre -sale codes, with a limit of nine tickets to the buyer contributing to urgency and pressure.
This year’s Ashes is formed as one of the most anticipated in the last memory. While their latest FaceOff in the previous Ashes series in England closed a draw of 2-2, the expectations of a high-pressure settlement in Australia.
Creature CEO Australia Todd Greenberg said that participation was incredible and urged fans not to expect.
“Record demand for tickets shows that fans of excitement feel about the fantastic international season,” Greenberg said.
“To overcome our previous ticket sales record before NSW and WA tickets have become a remarkable success and confirmed our position of Australian national sport again … I would call on those who have not bought their tickets yet.
India and South Africa also attend the white balls plus a series of women with multiple formats against India. It will also be the first time the male team plays in every Australian state and territory during one season. Cricket Australia has also revealed that fans can still register for a priority pre -sale up to 12 June, before business sales repair 13 June.
