Aurad hobli in Kalaburagi district recorded Karnataka’s highest maximum temperature of 45°C in the last 24 hours, which ended at 8:30 am on April 15, as heat waves tightened their grip on large parts of the state, according to a bulletin issued by the Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Center (KSNDMC).
The bulletin noted that several places in Kalaburagi, Raichur, Bidar and Vijayapura districts along with parts of Yadgir and Bagalkot recorded temperatures in the range of 42°C to 45°C on April 14. Isolated pockets in Ballari, Gadag, Koppal, Uttara Kannada, Belagavi, Chitradurgay and Chitradurgay district recorded similar high temperatures.
