Police have registered a case against a group of identifiable persons who allegedly barged into the site of an acupuncture camp in Kuttiyadi on Saturday (November 8) and allegedly assaulted the organisers, including a woman.
The suspects allegedly barged into the place and claimed that the woman from Kuttiyadi had died due to a botched acupuncture treatment. Sources at the Kuttiyadi police station said the attackers included relatives of the deceased. The case was registered on a petition by one of the organizers of the camp, who was allegedly injured in the incident.
Meanwhile, one of the protesters said he had already filed a petition against the promoters of acupuncture treatment in the village. He alleged that the police registered the case without investigating the complaints against several local acupuncture practitioners.
