Jannik Sinner beat Alex Alex de Minaur to move into title contention at the ATP World Tour Finals. (AP/PTI) Jannik Sinner booked his place in the ATP Finals championship match for the third consecutive year, extending his unblemished run in Turin with a 7-5, 6-2 victory over Alex de Minaur. The semifinal had its tense moments early, but once Sinner found a rhythm on his serve, the match swung firmly in his favor. The opening set offered De Minaur brief opportunities. He saved two break points in the first game and later earned three chances on Sinner’s serve but failed to convert any. Sinner absorbed the pressure, created his own at 5-5 and moved ahead. The break proved decisive and the Italian closed the set with clarity. Sinner then struck early in the second set, pulling out to a 4-0 lead and maintaining control until the end. The win extended his dominance over the Australian to 13 matches and continued his unbeaten run all week. Reflecting on the competition, Sinner acknowledged early resistance. “It was a very tough match, especially at the beginning of the first set. I felt he was serving great, very accurate,” he said. He added that the shift came after an early break in the second set. “I tried to be a little more aggressive and it worked well, but it was a tough match.

How do you see Jannik Sinner’s chances in the ATP Finals?
Turin was a happy place for Sinner. He ended his year here last season by defeating Taylor Fritz in the finals. This year’s trip was even cleaner, extending his winning streak to 18. “It’s the last event of the year and it’s great to finish this way,” he said. Sinner now awaits the winner of the Carlos Alcaraz – Felix Auger – Aliassime fight in Sunday’s final. A third consecutive title fight marks another steady finish. “To make the finals three years in a row means a lot to me,” he said. “I will enjoy tomorrow and try my best to get the best possible result.”
