
At least five Indian nationals staying in Qatar were killed after their bus met with an accident in Kenya, where they were on holiday, said the Indian Embassy in Doha on Tuesday (June 10, 2025).
“A group of 28 Indians from Qatar attended Kenya, where their bus met an unfortunate traffic accident yesterday,” the mission said in the X post.
According to available information, five Indian nationals lost their lives in an accident, he said.
Officials from the High Commission of India in Nairobi are on the ground and expand all help, he added.
“We are deeply saddened by a tragic road accident at OL Jororok-Nakura Road in the Nyandaru district, in which 5 Indian nationals lost their lives,” the Nairobi Indian Commission said at the X.
“Our sincere condolences to surviving families. We pray for a rapid recovery of the injured. The consular team from the High Commission is on Earth and is in close contact with the local authorities to expand all the necessary support.
The Indian mission in Qatar said it was in contact with the Indian Cultural Center (ICC), the Indian community benevolent forum (ICBF) and other community groups in Doha.

The Persian Gulf newspaper reported that the bus in which the Indian tourists traveled was out of control and fell into the gorge in the northeast region of Nyandaru.
The contribution that quoted community resources said at least five tourists from southern India were killed in the accident.
However, the identity of the dead must be verified, while 27 is injured and accepted to various hospitals in Kenya, she added.
