
Ten Bihar pilgrims died and 35 others were injured when their bus hit a truck parked on the Burdwan road in West Bengal on Friday (August 15, 2025), the officials said.
The pilgrims who belonged to Motihari in Bihar’s East Champaran District returned home when the accident on the NH-19 near Phaguipur in the Purba Bardhan district, said.
There were eight men and two women between the deceased, they added.
The injured persons, including six children, were admitted to Burdwan Medical College and the hospital, the officials said.
“There were 45 people in a luxury bus. Efforts are developing to contact their families,” the clerk said.
“Pilgrims started their journey from Motihari 8. August. For the first time they visited Deoghar and then went to Gangasagar,” he said.
