
PM Modi on BRICS SUMMIT: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez discussed ways to strengthen bilateral ties across key sectors such as drugs, biotechnology, traditional medicine and digital public infrastructure during meeting at the edge of BRICS 6.
According to the official statement of the Ministry of Outside (Mea), both leaders also exchanged opinions on strengthening cooperation in areas, including Ayurveda, Unified Interface (UPI), Catastrophe management and capacities building.
Both leaders agreed to work on questions of concern in the global south, including health, pandemic and climate change. The statement added that they appreciated the cooperation between the two countries in the multilateral arena.

Modi requires sanctions against terrorists
Previously, speaking at the summit, PM Modi said that the terrorist attack of Pahalgam, in which 22 people were, mostly civilians killed 22 April, was a blow not only to India but to humanity.
“There should be no hesitation in storing sanctions against terrorists. Personal or political profits should not be acceptable that silent consent, support for terror or terrorists should not be acceptable,” Brics in Rio de Janeiro said.
