The round table about the proposed definition of the Lok Sabha (LS) constituents organized by Jan Chaitanya Vedik called the main Minister N. Chandrababa Naida to call for a special assembly, to discuss this question, and then stood up, which would not damage the interests of the state. The round table also called on TDP, JSP and YSRCP to attend the upcoming conference on the Hyderabad.
The State Secretary of the CPI (M) V. Srinivasa Rao called on the State Government to organize extensive negotiations on the “controversial” question and criticize TDP and JSP for avoiding the CHENNAI conference led by Tamil over CM MK Stalin.
Mr. Rao claimed that the intention of the BJP for the definition of constituents based on the population was to tighten its grip in the southern states. He added that Mr. Naida could not have made a case against the definition, although his party, TDP, was able to call Shots in NDA.
The head of the Congress N. Tulasi Reddy warned that if the population was considered a scale for definition, the southern states would suffer great losses, which would endanger the national unity. He suggested that the number of LS seats remain unchanged and that the seats be added to the reservation for women should be spread in proportion to the states.
State President Jan Chaitanya Vedik V. Lakshman Reddy insisted that Mr. Naida should have a resolution after a thorough debate and sent him to the central government. He said that if the LS seats were assigned to the population of states in 2026, Tamil lost nine seats, Andhra Pradesh five, Kerala Six, West Bengal Four and Odisha three. On the other hand, Uttar Pradesh would win 12 seats, Bihar 10, Rajasthan Seven and Madhya Pradesh Five.
Former Minister Vadde Valleywara Rao Rao, former MLC KS Lakshman Rao, leader of CPI A. Vanaja, President of the District District Association of MV Anjaneyulu taxpayers and others participated in a round table.
