Officials of all five newly created corporations within the Greater Bengalur (GBA) office will be trained to use the Astram application developed by the Bengalur Traffic Police for watching potholes and watering in the city.
Tushar Giri Nath, another main secretary of the urban development department (UDD), noted that the Astram and “Gundi Gamana” application must be integrated for better monitoring of potholes and sites susceptible to the reservoir, during multi-epart, which took place on Friday in Malleswing.
The traffic police department recently identified 4,822 potholes throughout the city, of which only 1,861 were filled.
Mr. Nath ordered the remaining 2,961 potholes first, with higher officers ordered to check the repairs in person. He mentioned that water was another problem, and 137 vulnerable places were identified by the traffic police. While the problems in 56 locations have already been solved, Mr. Nath ordered officials to solve the remaining 81 seats and provide a permanent solution to ensure that rainwater does not stagnate on the roads.
He also noted that suppliers working on white and black projects across GBA limits must be responsible for road maintenance in good condition.
Mr. Nath stressed that all roads undergoing white and black topping must remain without potholes and suitable for smooth movement of traffic.
“At present, 400 km of roads are carried out on black state, while white power takes place on 150 km of roads, with Bengaluru has a total of 1,681 km of arterial and subarterial roads,” Nath said. He ordered officials to prepare a detailed list of roads where the work was completed, was going, or has to start, and share them with the relevant municipal corporations.
The meeting also reviewed traffic jams caused by the construction of the metro along the outer road of the circle near Nagawara and Hebbal. Officials were instructed to immediately repair damaged sections and improve service roads to facilitate the movement of the vehicle.
