The Association of Police Keral (KPOA) said on Friday that it expressed concern about the “growing incidents of violence and protests” against police staff, including the agitations presented outside the private residence of officers.
In a resolution approved at its meeting of the State Committee, chaired by President R. Prasanth, KPOA stated that such steps had made indirect calls for offensive police and were focused on weakening the enforcement of law in the state.
Without the names of the leaders of congress, who announced protests outside the homes of the accused in the cases of torture, the association condemned such moves.
The resolution urged the state of the state police not to introduce staff in such situations to protect the houses of officers, but after taking strict legal steps against the participants.
“We have also witnessed the worrying trend of protests that were transported to the private residences of officers and their families. It is extremely regrettable that even political workers who opposed marches outside their leaders will march themselves to police houses,” he said.
The Association warned that without adequate legal support, officers could face difficulty in the future to maintain public order in good faith.
According to KPOA, whenever the political organization faces controversy due to misconduct or violent infighting, they try to distract attention by raising accusations against the police. “Many of the recent accusations against the Keral police are in this nature,” he said.
The Association called on the government to strengthen the legal protection of police officers and emphasized that the strength remained determined by the legal police activities and the protection of human rights.
“The primary mission of the police is the safety and well -being of society. We call on every member of the strength to fulfill their duties and call on the company to extend the full support of the Keral police service,” he said.
