The Assam Cabinet decided to download about 28,000 cases in various tribunes of foreigners (FTS) against the Koch-Rajbongsh community.
The decision effectively removes the brand “D” or dubious voters from these people. D is the category of voters in Assam, which the government released for their alleged lack of credible citizenship documents.

“Many cases are waiting for FTS and 28,000 such people are similar to the people of Koch-Rajbongsh. In other words, 28,000 Koch-Rajbongshis still transmits” foreigners “labels,” said Histant Biswa Sarma, Chief Minister Biswa Sarma after Cabinet 4.
“The state government believes that they are a native community and are an integral part of Asam culture. Cabinet has done a historical decision to immediately abolish FT cases,” he said.
“People of this community are poor and have suffered a lot over the years,” the main minister said.
