The Assam government led by Bharatiya Janata on Tuesday (April 1, 2025) launched the main system of support for women’s business.
“Mukhya Mantri Mahila Udyamita Abhiyan” or the main minister of the business campaign, charged as the “largest” initiative of its kind, includes three -stage financial assistance to women.
Women are a strong voting force for BJP in Assam, where the elections to the assembly are gone for a year.
“With the blessing of our mothers and nurses, we launched Mukhya Mantri Mahil Udyamita Abhiyan today and provided 10,000 ₹ as the seed capital of women to strengthen the possibilities of self -employment,” said Hisant Biswa Sarma.
Mr. Sarma said that every eligible woman would receive 25,000 GBP in the second year after meaningful use of seed capital. Half of this amount would be provided as government support and half as a nominal interest rate loan.
He said that each recipient will be given in the third year after the conditions in the second year of 50,000 GBP.
“The initiative is designed to catalyze business on micro -level, ensure financial independence and economic uprising for women throughout the state,” he said.
He also emphasized the multilayer strategy of the state to use the “female strength” at every stage of life-free of charge and support for livelihoods to retirements of old age and grain of free food.
The recipient programs for women include Oronodoi, for which 1,250 GBP is converted to women in 37.2 Lakh families with an annual income of less than 2 Lakh. The scheme costs the state government 467 Crore per month.
The opposition Congress said that the state government, which borrows heavily, should be adjusted for a source of funding for many recipients programs reported that it has been proposed with regard to the upcoming surveys – Panchayat this year and the Assembly next year.
