Assam Jawan’s rifles were killed and at least three others were injured after armed men attacked the paramilitary vehicle in the Bishhnupur district on Friday evening, the officials said. The attack occurred around 18:00 in the Nambol Sabal Leikai area in the district, they added.
One of the officials said the Tata 407 group was tracked by the Jawans of Assam rifles that one killed.
“A group of shooters attacked the vehicle in which the Assam Rifles staff traveled to the Bishhnupur district from Imphal, claimed Jawan’s life and injured three,” one of the officials said.
The injuries were taken to the hospital by the police and the locals, another official said.
