In the midst of criticism of targeted evictions from the government countries Assam Chief Minister of Histant Biswa Sarma sniffed conspiracy for people with their roots in today’s Bangladesh to settle in the areas dominated by “Hinda or Assam Muslims”.
The Bharatiya Janata (BJP) government has been performing a number of evacuation units since June. Approximately 3,500 families, mostly Bengal Muslims, have so far been evicted from reserve forests and wetlands.
It is said that they interfered with government land after being displaced by the erosion of the river bank around the state.
“Why do they move to 200-300 km places from their homework to the place where the Hinda or Assam Muslims live? Our people suffer from uncertainty on Saturday. This is a problem beyond eviction; a hidden conspiracy on Saturday,” the main minister said after evidence on Saturday (July 12, 2025).
He argued that the demographic balance in Assam was threatened due to such people’s migration, stating that this phenomenon had to be examined to see if it was poverty or a plot with political leaders behind him.
“During the eviction in Lakhimpur (Northeast Assam), we found that Encroachers came from South Salmary (Western Assam) and Sribhumi (South Assam). If I am without land, I will not look for the ground in my district?” Mr. Sarma said.
He cleaned an example of the Sarupathar constituency in the East Assam Golaghat Quarter and claimed that people from Dhing and Rupohi in the Nagoon Central Assam district had settled there in large numbers to change the demographic formula.
Last week, the state government carried out two main evidence units in the districts of Dhubri and Goalpar to clean more than 4,500 bighas (1,485 acres) of the land, including reserve forests.
Mr. Sarma said more than 2,64 lakh acres of government land. “We do not like the implementation of the evacuation units and the pushes of people out. But the Supreme Court and the High Court (Gauhati) issued strict orders that forest land, VGR (village grazing) and PGR (Professional Pasting Reserve) should not be affected,” Darrang told reporters.
The decisions of eviction would continue until government countries have been exempt from penetration, he said.
In March in March, the data submitted by the Minister of Forest Chandra Mohan showed that people from the state interfered with more than 2.5 hectares of forest land, followed by the penetration of neighboring states on 83,000 hectares and tea gardens on more than 1,000 hectares.

Opposition parties, including Congress, reported that migrant Muslims were focused primarily on creating a space for energy and industrial projects by corporate bigwigs near the central BJP leadership. They also claimed that the proposal of the polarization of the state before the elections of the Assembly, which will take place until May 2025.
Congress, which criticized the exhaust drives, promised compensation for all Indian citizens whose houses were bullditized if there was power in Assam.
The Jamaat Ulama Council killed the “discriminatory” eviction unit, which she said, according to her, the influence of Muslims inadequately. He called for an immediate cessation of such “unfair” measures.
On Saturday (July 13, 2025), the Union of all students of all ASSAM organized nationwide protests condemning the “inhuman” eviction units, which stated that the displaced thousands of poor and marginalized families throughout the state. The Union also presented the memorandum to Prime Minister Narendra Modi through district officials and sought to stop his intervention to stop the “anti-context” action.
