Asian Games schedule for Sunday, September 20: Medal events, match times and more

Sunday, September 20, promises to be a busy day for India at the 2026 Asian Games, with women’s cricket, hockey, shooting and teqball among the main attractions. The Indian women’s cricket team will face Bangladesh in the semi-finals, while the women’s and men’s hockey teams will begin their campaigns in the group stage. In teqball, Quimcy Joaqim Dsouza will have two chances to fight for the bronze medal, in women’s singles and mixed doubles. A medal here can lead to India’s lead in the quadrennial.

There will be plenty of other Indian athletes in action throughout the day, starting with Suchika Tariyal in the women’s 60kg traditional MMA quarter-finals and Suraj Singh Mayanglambam in the men’s changquan final for Wushu.

In shooting, the women’s 10m air rifle team will also be gunning for a medal, while India’s table tennis, swimming and women’s badminton teams continue their campaigns.

The action will continue into the afternoon with more competitions in hockey, table tennis and wushu, while the Indian swimmers could feature in the finals if they advance from their heats. Vikrant Baliyan and Aparna will also take part in the wushu event as India looks to expand its medal tally and keep athletes progressing across disciplines.
