Asian Games schedule for October 2: Indian hockey, boxing and wrestling finals in focus

October 2 brings India a packed schedule at the 2026 Asian Games with medal events spanning wrestling, boxing, archery, cycling and hockey. The day begins with golfers and archers in action, while wrestlers Dipanshi, Priya Malik, Sujeet and Rajat Ruhal enter the competition in their respective categories.

Archery could produce medals in the women’s and mixed team events, while cycling features the men’s Madison final and the closing stages of the women’s omnium and men’s keirin. Boxing has three Indian finalists, with Lovlina Borgohain, Parveen and Ankush fighting for the gold.

The afternoon could bring a big medal race, match finals in the 65kg and 125kg freestyle categories and several bronze medal fights. The biggest team event of the day comes at 3.30pm when the Indian women take on China in the hockey final.

The medal competitions will run from morning to afternoon and will feature Indian athletes in several disciplines on October 2, with many opportunities to add to the country’s register.
