India now has 9 gold, 21 silver and 26 bronze medals.India’s shooting duo of Neeru Dhanda and Kynan Chenai produced the biggest moment of the day, winning gold in the mixed team trap and setting a new Asian Games record. Their score of 34 surpassed the previous Games record of 30, with Qatar taking silver with 32 and China taking bronze with 23.Asian Games full coverage|schedule|medal listThe gold was India’s first ever in the mixed team trap competition. It was also India’s ninth gold medal of the Games and the third gold won on Wednesday. The Indian shooting contingent has now won 15 medals, including three gold, eight silver and four bronze.Neeru had already made history on Tuesday by becoming the first Indian woman to win an individual gold at the Asian Games in trap shooting. She also won silver in the women’s trap team competition alongside Aashima Ahlawat and Manisha Keer.India added another gold in archery as Jyothi Vennam, Chikitha Taniparthi and Prithika Pradeep defeated China 238-234 to retain the women’s composite team title. Chikitha and Sahil Jadhav also won gold in the mixed team event after beating Korea 158-157 in a shootout to secure a quota place for the 2028 Olympics.In boxing, 2026 Commonwealth Games gold medalist Priya Ghanghas signed for bronze after losing to China’s Yang Chengyu in the women’s 60kg semi-final.
