Asian Games 2026: India wins silver in men’s 10m air rifle team event

The trio combined to score 1890.1 points to secure India’s first medal of the day, while Rudrankksh and Himanshu also qualified for the individual finals.The Indian trio scored 1890.1 points to secure the silver medal, while China won the gold with a world record 1899.0. South Korea finished third and took bronze with a total of 1,884.2 points.

Rudrankksh, Himanshu qualify for singles final

The qualification round also saw two Indian shooters enter the men’s 10m individual air rifle final.Rudrankksh led the Indian challenge, finishing third in the qualifier with an impressive score of 631.8 points. Himanshu also advanced to the final after securing seventh place with 630.0 points. Meanwhile, Parth narrowly missed out on making the individual finals, finishing 10th overall with 628.3 points.

China has broken the world record for obtaining gold

China, with Olympic champion Sheng Lihao alongside Ma Sihan and Zhang Changhong, put in a commanding performance to win the gold medal with a total score of 1,899.0 points, setting a new qualifying world record.The men’s team silver added to India’s strong start in shooting at the Games. The women’s 10m air rifle team of Elavenil Valarivan, Sonam Maskar and Vidarsa Vinod also secured silver on the opening day and Elavenil subsequently added another silver in the individual event.India finished with a record haul of 22 medals in shooting at the Asian Games in Hangzhou, winning seven gold, nine silver and six bronze medals.
